“8 1/2” is a gallery set to open on May 1, 2026, in Ōimachi, Tokyo.
Directed by Ryota Kawaguchi, who has previously run the curatorial project “｛｝cacco,” the gallery will draw on that experience to collaborate with the next generation of artists and curators. Together, they will plan and organize exhibitions that go beyond the displays themselves, considering the planning process and the context before and after each show.
The gallery will also focus on the events and processes surrounding artists’ creative work, documenting them as contemporary practices. Dialogues with artists and curators are releasing as podcasts and talk events.

また、アーティストの制作に伴う出来事やプロセスにも目を向け、それらを時代的な実践として記録していきます。アーティストやキュレーターとの対話は、ポッドキャストやトークイベントとして公開していきます。
